What is the purpose of Chicago Fashion Week (CFW) and what is MW Productions?

Chicago Fashion Week presented by MasterCard was created to manage, unify and modernize the Windy City’s runway shows, and provide a platform for the designers to present their collections to worldwide media and buyers.

MW Productions is an organization ready to provide a bright, innovative stage for growing, established, and emerging designers to showcase their collections to international buyers, media, celebrities, and select style makers.

What is the mission and goals of your organization?

We are committed to supporting Chicago's established, and emerging designers. Our goal is to honor the city's evolving artists and stylists. Along with their talent, their creations, their techniques and the possibilities these brilliant artists produce.

We will not rest until we have established Chicago in the top echelon of fashion that it deserves. After all, for years Chicago has dressed its inhabitants, including its working professional, celebrity personalities, socialites and fashionistas exceptionally well, yet credit has gone to other markets. It is about time to Chicago to be graced by an event worthy of International recognition, on that is produced by Chicagoans for America's cutting edge.

How long have you been in business?

MW Productions was formed 8 years ago; however we have been producing events for the past 11 years. However, we are more than just an event-marketing company. For further information about us, you can check the website on the link above.

What gives you the credentials to start an event of such magnitude?

We have produced countless number of fashion shows in the United States and Europe. Our teams are formed by individuals with premier experience in the production of these kind of events,and most of them have a background in the creation of European fashion shows. We have collaborated with the most preeminent modeling agencies in Chicago, New York and Los Angeles.

In addition to this, we have also collaborated with top designers to create their fashion shows for their latest collections.

Our clients expect to feature their collections on an incomparable stage and we know how to exceed expectations. Our creative department, in combination with a team of experts has delivered some of the best and most spectacular platforms for the most "talked-about" fashion shows in the Chicago Area.

On top of that, we are based in Chicago, thus we will provide the city that we know, love and respect with a top-tier event that will prove to everyone that Chicago is deserving of a bi-annual, world class fashion extravaganza..

What is the concept of Chicago Fashion Week presented by MasterCard?

Our initial theme for the event reads: "Tailoring the Perfect Fit for Chicago's Fashion Industry." - so our concept is based on that. We are bringing together the city's overlooked & highly skilled fashion designers in an effort to showcase Chicago's creative fashion and design industry.

The elements that allow the fashion industry to flourish are constantly changing. The concept of Chicago Fashion Week delves into the question, "What is fashion?" by showcasing the organic mix of the essential components: colors, textures, layers and feelings, as they are placed together with panache to great lasting trends.

What are you guys all about?

We are all about Fashion. That is what CHICAGO FASHION WEEK is all about. . . Nothing else. We are not about film screenings, political affairs, nor do we concentrate in music unless it embellishes an event. We are based in Chicago and we are Chicagoans with an incredible love for this City.

When was the first Chicago Fashion Week you produced?

Our first event was scheduled back in October 2005, however it was re-scheduled to Spring 2006. If you learned about us after having read an email informing you that the events; IDENTIFIED BY DIFFERENT NAMES, (using the words Chicago Fashion week), is completely FALSE and it has been made usurping our name.

Please be aware that only STAFF agents working for CHICAGO FASHION WEEK have an email address with the extension @chicagofashionweek.com.

Anyone else posing as a representative for us that does not present a business card and/or copyrighted material, is NOT, in anyway related to this event.

The only official website owned and operated by CHICAGO FASHION WEEK is www.chicagofashionweek.com. (.net and .org). Please use common sense when using search engines on the Internet. We are not related to any other site but chicagofashionweek.com. No words before or prior to it.


TICKET SALES -

Where can I get tickets?

Tickets will be on sale 3 weeks prior to the events, check the website for the schedule of events. The price of each ticket averages between $95.00 to $120.00 depending of the venue and the show you want to attend.

DESIGNER'S QUESTIONS -

I am a designer based outside Chicago, Can I still participate?

Yes, Registration for the 2008 National and International designers shows at the upcoming Chicago Fashion Week presented by MasterCard is now open. If you would like to receive a venue brochure and time slot request form, please email or call us. Forms must be submitted no later than February 27, 2008 for the Spring shows and no later than September 1, 2008 for the Fall shows.

Can your Company finance my registration fee?

Under special circumstances and with MW Productions - Financial Management team, we can provide not only financial assistance but additional services such us: Operations Management, Company Analysis & Recommendation, Public Relations, Website Development, Human Resources Management, Operations Management and more.

How do I register for this event?

Designers wishing to participate are required to submit an updated press kit. Press kits should contain the following items:

  • Designer and company profile
  • List of retail distribution
  • Clips of editorial press coverage
  • Photos, and/or video of most recent Spring and Fall collections
  • Showroom sales office and public relations contact information

If you are interested in showcasing your collection, please download the Designer's Guidelines (.pdf file) and please kindly follow the instructions in this kit.

If you are a fashion designer that has already submitted a press kit and has not received our Venue Brochure, (.pdf file) please download a complete form from our website by clicking on the link above.

Why are there so many requirements for Registration, can I still participate if I don't meet all requirements?

As stated above, we are committed to supporting Chicago's emerging & established fashion designers. Our goal is to honor this city's evolving artists and stylists.

The only way to achieve this objective is by educating ourselves professionally, therefore we are requesting this information to evaluate the careers of the designers and recommend the best approach towards their development in this industry.

All designers that do not meet this criterion will be evaluated on individual basis.

How many times is Chicago Fashion Week presented by MasterCard going to be held a year?

We have scheduled this event twice a year. Once during the Spring (Fall-Winter Collections) and once during the Fall (Spring-Summer collections)

We are open to Strategic Partnerships with luxury companies and products that are looking for high-end exposure in our spectacular events.

How can I obtain FREE PASSES for this event?

To receive invitations to attend Chicago Fashion Week presented by MasterCard Fashion Shows, please mail on your company letterhead indicating the following:

Retail:

Identify company / store name
Identify names and titles of attendees
Identify products / services sold or represented
Include address, telephone, fax, email address and website (if relevant)
Indicate shows you would like to attend (See schedule)

Press:

Identify media outlet on a company letterhead (i.e. - newspaper, magazine, internet, etc.)
Identify circulation and audience reach

Your attendance will be confirmed by an invitation in the mail of the fashion shows we would like you to attend. Please check our website regularly for show updates and press releases leading up to Chicago Fashion Week Presented by MasterCard. No email submissions will be accepted.
